Frequently Asked Questions
Who is GCFEL accredited by? The Global Center for Executive Leadership (GCFEL) operates as an incubator of impact and as a partnering supporter of social change and investment initiatives. To support these objectives, our faculty support cohort fellows in gaining the experience and acumen necessary to operate as change facilitators, social strategists, learning architects, and influential leaders. Each Fellow has an opportunity to earn up to three graduate certificates concomitant with the successful completion of course and fieldwork as demonstrated through formal assessments and the development and implementation of on-ground initiatives. GCFEL is a provider of accreditation, not a receiver of accreditation; as such, the credentialing of executive certifications are governed by the Global Center Policy.
How does GCFEL fund initiatives? While the GCFEL has been fortunate to benefit from a well-maintained endowment, our endowment is used primarily to fund operations. While we directly supported fellows during the early years of our work, we have successfully connected fellows to aligned funders and have facilitated the receipt of more than 100 Million CHF in funding.
Can non-fellows apply for Executive Certificate offerings? Due to the fieldwork requirements of each EC, GCFEL does not currently offer opportunties for non-fellows to earn credentials or certifications.
Where can I find out more about individual projects and initatives? Due to nature and cirumstance of the work being undertaken by our fellows, GCFEL does not publicize the work of fellows and instead defers to the discretion and security protocols of individual funders. To learn more about projects, initatives, and collaborations in any of our areas of impact, please send inquiry to info@gcfel.org
Do fellows need to be able to gain security clearance? With many areas of impact being directly connected to matters of local and national security, public welfare, requiring an extended presence in destabilized zones, and access to privileged information — GCFEL requires that potential fellows engage in obtaining the equivalent of a Transnational Level 6 (Public Trust and National Security) Clearance prior to acceptance into the fellowship.
How can I apply to be GCFEL fellow? GCFEL does not accept applications or unsolicited nominations.
